COSATT will take care of all aspects installation, but containment, 240V power and BT lines are provided by Police Force contractors.

The Sensor Dome
The dome is made from 5mm polycarbonate, approved by the Home Office. The ideal position of the sensor dome is the centre of the ceiling, but this is not essential.

Cell Screening
Cells must be sealed against microwave leakage. In order to achieve this, a special coating is applied to the walls and windows are filmed externally.

Cabling
All data cables running parallel to main voltage cables should be separated in trunking. The cells are connected on a CAT5E daisy chain and the PA system is 100v line.

PC and Monitor
The PC is normally situated at the custody desk or office to enable easy access to the system for event logs. The monitors can be desk, consol or wall mounted.

Power
240v mains power supplies are required for PC and monitor(s). Power is required for each cell group.

Calibration
The system is set up and calibrated by COSATT engineers in the final installation stage

Training
COSATT will train users on the operations of the COMS and can provide chargeable refresher sessions as necessary.

Maintenance
The aim is to provide a simple and cost effective maintenance programme, it is anticipated that there will be less than 1% system component failure per annum, other than malicious damage.

Call Out
There is a fault escalation plan to handle any possible incidents, and this can be modified to suit user requirements.

Health & Safety
COMS is entirely safe, there is no hazard to cell occupants; the sensors have been trialled and passed by the National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) on behalf of the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB).

Warranty
There is a standard 12 months warranty against manufacturing and installation defects during which parts and labour are covered. Thereafter annual Extended Warranty & Maintenance Contracts are available.
